So, who is Shamara? Well, I am your doula (hopefully) but before that I am the mother to a handsome 3yr old boy and a beautiful 8-month-old baby girl.

I got into doula work unofficially after my first pregnancy with my son. It was a tough pregnancy and I felt uniformed which lead to stress and an unpleasant birthing experience.

After I had my son, I supported women during their pregnancies because I wanted women to feel supported and informed, but at that time I did not have any official doula training.

When I got pregnant with my daughter, I took a doula training course and decided to hire a doula as well to ensure I would have the kind of birthing experience that I wanted. It was the best decision I made for me and my family. 

My hope with Innergy Birth Services is to provide women with the education that they need to make informed decisions about their birth, to support women emotionally and physically, and to help women have the birthing experience they have always envisioned.
